Launch of the Children's Jury in about 50 libraries
After several weeks of testing, the TOMMI expert jury has nominated a total of about 70 games and digital educational offerings across eight categories. Now, numerous children and teens at approximately 50 public libraries have two months to test the nominated titles and choose their favorites. That’s because at the TOMMI Awards, the children’s and teens’ jury decides who wins the prizes. The young jury can especially look forward to testing several games ahead of their official release dates. You can find the list of nominees here—and click this link to read the jury’s rationale.
This year's TOMMI Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. on the KiKA media show "Team Timster."
Libraries as the Ideal Testing Site
Libraries are the ideal place for the testing phase because they foster media literacy and, through their offerings, ensure that children’s fundamental rights are upheld in several ways: among other things, the right to free access to education and media, the right to play, and the right to participate.
The children’s jury conducts its testing in these libraries.
