The "TOMMINATIONS" 2015 are fixed

For weeks, an expert jury of journalists and media educators slipped into the roles of telekinetic heroines, dumb Stone Age people and cute woolly dinos. They built robots, constructed tracks of an electric train or controlled digital racing cars. In 2015, it was once again evident that the greatest innovative power was to be found in the electronic toy segment. Now the "Tomminierungen" have been decided and the children's jury is plunging into the hot testing phase in more than 20 public libraries across Germany.

TOMMI - German Children's Software Award 2014: The winners were awarded today at the Frankfurt Book Fair

They had the final say: Around 2,600 children voted for the best games for consoles, PCs and apps in over 20 libraries - for the first time also in the electronic toy category.

Very fresh: The nominations for the German Children's Software Award are available

In recent weeks, an expert jury made up of journalists, media educators, scientists and librarians not only took a close look at apps, PC and console games, but also at the new TOMMI "Electronic Toys" category. Another new feature is that only five games each were nominated for the PC and console categories instead of ten. "The upheaval in the games industry," explains TOMMI co-initiator Thomas Feibel, "is also being felt by the Children's Software Award. Only a few manufacturers currently have children in mind with their products. Instead, the trend has shifted even more toward apps and electronic toys."

Curtain up for the winners of the TOMMI 2013

New record: Around 4,500 children took part in over 20 libraries nationwide to determine the TOMMI winners for the console, PC and app categories. The winner of the special Kindergarten & Preschool award is an app.
