The 2025 TOMMI Nominees Have Been Announced / Children's Jury Selects from40 libraries
Over the past few weeks, the TOMMI expert jury has thoroughly reviewed around 70 exciting games and digital learning resources across eight categories and finalized its nominations. Now it’s the children’s and teens’ turn: Through mid-November, they can test, rate, and vote for their favorites at over 40 public libraries throughout Germany. Because with the TOMMI Award, they have the final say. You can find all the nominees and the reasons for their selection here and in the appendix. The patron of the award is Karin Prien, Federal Minister for Education, Family, Seniors, Women, and Youth.
A major awards ceremony on KiKA and at kika.de
The KiKA media magazine “Team Timster” (KiKA/rbb/NDR) will reveal which games have been honored with a TOMMI. Starting Monday, December 8, 2025, one winner will be announced daily onkika.deand in the KiKA app. The full-length TOMMI Awards ceremony will air on KiKA on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 8 p.m.
Library Pilot Site Libraries play a central role in fostering media literacy. They have the necessary technical infrastructure and expertise in media education. They also enable children and young people to participate in the digital world—especially those who cannot afford the latest technological advancements. Click here for a list of libraries.
