3DS: Pokémon Sun/Moon (Nintendo)

Here’s what the expert jury has to say: If you only go on Pokémon hunts with your cell phone, you’re missing out on a lot, as “Pokémon Sun/Moon” proves. These games build on the familiar formula: a young adventurer explores the world, catches a myriad of imaginative creatures, and overcomes numerous challenges on the path to becoming a Pokémon Master. But this recipe for success is enriched with beautiful island worlds, new protagonists, and a gripping story. Like previous generations of the series, the tried-and-true, brilliant search-and-collect mechanic is utterly captivating.
