“INFLAMMANIA 2 – Fight to Cure” wins at TOMMI because it’s a little gross but still really interesting—and it’s really funny. The game is all about using strategy to keep viruses out of the human body. There are lots of explanations about the virus cells, so we learn a lot about viruses, bacteria, and the immune system. It’s really fun to fight the viruses with a partner. The different levels keep the game varied. The combination of action and learning is an absolute highlight.

This app achieves what we call “edutainment”: it beautifully combines the fun of play with the transfer of knowledge. After all, it’s not enough to simply present knowledge through trendy images and text. Using playful elements, this app does an excellent job of showing how infections and diseases spread throughout the body. Thanks to the various characters and their functions, a lot of knowledge sticks simply through playing. Anyone who wants to deepen their understanding can look it up in the Immuxikon. This app doesn’t try to cram knowledge down your throat. Great app! It’s fun.
