App: Knard (Christoph Minnameier) / iOS, Android

Here’s what media educators have to say: “Knard” has quickly won the hearts of children. Together with Knard, the children used the easy-to-use app to explore an imaginatively designed adventure in which there is still much to discover. The children who tested the app had a lot of fun discovering the animations and sounds on the pages, were captivated by the atmospheric music, and responded especially well to direct interaction—for example, to Knard’s “Shh” as he carefully sneaks into the trolls’ cave to free the owl. Amid all this excitement, however, there are frequent moments when the young players can relax. This makes the app a captivating adventure that also leaves room to just sit back and enjoy the ride.
