The concept is very simple: Children place the fox character Mika on their tablet or smartphone, and then they use a stylus to interact with various educational apps. The themes focus on early numbers and quantities, as well as early reading and writing. The whole experience is packed with gamification elements. Children complete all tasks using the stylus. A well-designed educational game, but with a few minor navigation hurdles (you can’t return to the main screen within the game). The stylus and figures work well with the tablet. Sometimes the learning path is too rigidly prescribed, so that children aren’t allowed to choose their own path. For parents, there’s plenty of information as well as the ability to track their children’s progress. The idea of combining a figure with a touchscreen is original and gives children an active way to learn independently.
