1st place - Boxing Bots (Kosmos)

Here’s what the kids’ jury says: “Boxing Bots” wins the TOMMI because it’s so much fun to have exciting battles with a friend. Everyone has an equal chance of winning. It’s easy to put together, and the kangaroo figures are very agile. You box one of the funny opponents, and when you knock him down, you get a point. It was fun to fight and dodge without getting hurt. It’s a great toy—the hydraulics are cool, and it doesn’t need any power.

Here’s what the expert jury has to say: For once, the Kosmos “Boxing Bots” robot kit doesn’t require batteries or tools: The two boxing robots included can be assembled from numerous individual parts and are controlled without a motor or app. Instead, they feature hydraulic controllers that must also be assembled by the children themselves. As they build, children not only develop a connection with their robot but also understand how it works and become familiar with the basics of hydraulics and mechanics. And thanks to two kits, this set can keep two children entertained and happy at the same time.
