2026 Games Awards
1st place - Emyo (Refutura)
Here’s what the kids’ jury says: “Emyo” wins the TOMMI because it’s “meaningful.” On the one hand, it’s about basketball, and we have to shoot the ball into the hoop in space. It gets harder and harder with each level. There are also different worlds and missions that you have to complete. Once you’ve finished them, you can unlock new worlds and keep moving forward. Above all, though, the game is about building our self-confidence so we don’t give up too soon or too easily. “Emyo” is special because the game boosts courage and positive energy.”
Here’s what the expert jury had to say: Small things can have a big impact. With “EMYO,” children become braver through play and develop a positive sense of self. The app teaches that a courageous attitude is more helpful than resignation. Children travel in a spaceship to different planets, each of which represents a specific strength. Various games require patience and cannot be solved immediately. With patience and confidence, players learn that perseverance pays off and effort is rewarded. The phrase “I can’t do this yet!” is presented as a positive alternative to “I can’t do this!”—and EMYO supports this in a playful and skillful way.
