1st place - Rug Tales (Gamigo Group/Purple Hills)

2019 | PC Games | Winners

Here’s what the TOMMI Kids’ Jury has to say: “Rug Tales” should win first place at the TOMMI Awards because we were immediately captivated by this imaginative carpet world. In this carpet land lives a farmer who has fallen in love with a woman. One day, she gets swept away, and the farmer sets out to rescue her. The game is still cheerful and not dramatic. The graphics are colorful and crisp, and you can make out every blade of grass. We really like that there are so many puzzles—they’re challenging but never too difficult.

Here’s what the expert jury had to say: The charming setting on the rug always brings a smile to your face. For example, when you drive the toy car over the wall made of building blocks. String and paper clips are the materials used to build bridges and buildings. The story is kid-friendly but not boring, and the characters are very likable. At the beginning, the game guides you well, so kids always know what to do. Later on, the tasks become more complex, but never too difficult. If needed, there’s even a walkthrough included.
