2026 Games Awards
1st place – The Feed – State Agency for Communication Baden-Württemberg (LFK)
Here’s what the TOMMI Youth Jury has to say: *The Feed* wins the TOMMI because it lets us explore what really goes on behind the scenes of social media. We work for a social media app, select posts, and our job is to keep people online for as long as possible. We found it pretty alarming how easily we can influence other people. That’s why “The Feed” is an exciting and realistic game—especially because it’s so timely. It never felt preachy, yet it’s made us see social media in a whole new light.
Here’s what the expert jury had to say: In “THE FEED,” teens take on the role of an algorithm and decide what content their users will see. In the process, they experience firsthand how social networks capture attention, amplify trends, and influence opinions. The app makes the mechanisms of filter bubbles, personalization, and addictive factors easy to understand and encourages critical reflection on one’s own media use. Through this playful exploration, young people learn how digital platforms work and develop an awareness of the opportunities and risks of social media—an innovative approach to media education and digital literacy.
