2026 Games Awards
2nd place - Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (Ubisoft)
Here’s what the kids’ jury had to say: “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” wins the TOMMI because it’s a super-cool game and we love real action games. As one of the Seven Immortals, we bravely set out to find the Prince of Persia. In the game, we jump, climb, and fight our way through a mountain, using lots of different combos. The story about the lost crown totally sucked us into the 2D Metroidvania world. The graphics and gameplay are awesome.
Here’s what the expert jury had to say: In addition to the very fluid combat—which relies primarily on skillful blocking and counterattacks—wall jumps and other aerial acrobatics define the gameplay. Dodging traps, crossing chasms, fending off attacks from—usually—multiple enemies, recovering treasures, discovering new passages, and occasionally taking on a boss—all of this plays out very smoothly thanks to highly precise controls. The perfectly balanced variety among the individual game elements ensures that time literally flies by. You always get just the right amount of breathing room and visual treats to motivate you to keep exploring and fighting.
