Here’s what the kids’ jury had to say: “Luigi’s Mansion 3” won the TOMMI 2020 award because it’s the best, most exciting, and funniest horror game. The spooky hotel with all the ghosts was awesome. Luigi had to defeat them with the vacuum cleaner. The battles are really cool, and you level up really fast. Plus, we were able to unlock new abilities as we played. We really liked the different floors and the horrors they held.

Here’s what the expert jury had to say: Mario’s brother Luigi has to clean a hotel taken over by ghosts using a vacuum cleaner. The individual levels are brilliantly designed, offering plenty of opportunities to discover secrets and experiment with what you can suck up. On top of that, there are cool boss battles and fun sound design. Luigi is rather skittish, hesitant, and by no means a great hero—at least not at first. And that makes him an ideal role model for many people who weren’t born to be heroes either.
