Here’s what the TOMMI Kids’ Jury has to say: “The Ilios Experiment” wins the TOMMI because it’s a game based on a social experiment. We arrive as a new boy in the futuristic city of Ilios, where everything is supposed to be fair. We walk through the city, complete lots of tasks, master mini-games, and meet people we can help. The story is super exciting, and like a really great game, it has amazing graphics. We decide for ourselves what to say and do, and in the process, we learn how important tolerance, getting along with others, and making the right decisions are.

Here’s what the expert jury had to say: “lios is supposedly the perfect city. But what happens when I influence the lives of others by reporting or praising them? Anyone who gets to know the city and its residents quickly realizes that the experiment’s dazzling facade is deceptive. On the one hand, the game fosters tolerance for others, but it also prompts reflection on just how far one can go in such a world. The Social Score used in the game is very reminiscent of the point system used in China to reward or punish people. It always raises the question: How fair can something like this really be?”
