2020 | Kindergarten and Preschool | Nominees

Exploring the world, learning interesting facts about other countries—all of this is possible even for preschoolers. Shifu’s globe not only allows children to view and locate countries on the globe—thereby helping them develop a sense of the world—but, with the help of a tablet, they can also use augmented reality to learn a wealth of information about countries, people, culture, and animals. It’s easy for slightly older children to use; the text and information are very well presented and made accessible in an easy-to-understand way. By combining a real object—the globe—with a digital medium—the tablet with augmented reality—it also establishes a meaningful connection between tangible objects and the virtual world.

Critical comment from jugendschutz.net: Parents are asked to provide their email address in order to receive monthly updates on their child's progress. This is actually required in order to access all the games.
