App for iOS & Android: Digitalwerkstatt Kunst Studio (HABA Digital GmbH)

2019 | Kindergarten and Preschool | Nominees

Here’s what media educators have to say: In the “Digitalwerkstatt Kunst Studio,” young children can explore their creativity: Using simple gestures, they arrange various shapes—such as circles, rectangles, squares, letters, or stars—choose colors, and adjust their sizes to create small works of art. They can save their abstract or concrete creations and view them again and again. The gestures used to operate the program are intuitive and easy to learn. Experimenting with different shapes, letters, colors, and design options sharpens their visual perception. In this way, they learn to use digital media creatively and to engage productively and imaginatively with the wide range of possibilities available.
