Here’s what the expert jury had to say:
“On the Trail of Biodiversity” is an app by Greenpeace. If you grant access to your camera and location, you can use augmented reality to select one of four themed worlds related to biodiversity on a globe. In these themed worlds (rainforest, the Great Barrier Reef, native birds, and the supermarket), players interact with animated characters or the environment against photo backdrops and look around using their smartphones. When you tap on the characters or elements of the environment, info boxes appear that are read aloud to you. Great for school starting in eighth grade.
