1st place - Hey Clay (TOMY)

Here’s what the kids’ jury had to say: “Hey Clay” won first place at TOMMI because we thought it was especially great for younger kids. Above all, the combination of the app and real clay is a lot of fun because we can create things with our hands. We can choose animals from different sets and mold them following step-by-step instructions. This requires a lot of dexterity and a good eye for the right proportions. In addition to the totally cute animal designs, we liked that the clay dries at the end, leaving us with a toy.

Here’s what the expert jury says: Thebase material for this toy is traditional: classic modeling clay. With the help of the included app, you can turn the malleable clay into colorful little pigs or impressive stegosaurs. The instructions in the app are easy to follow and can be paused and repeated. Even if the little clay horse doesn’t end up looking quite as well-formed as the one shown in the app, you’ve still created a beautiful work of art. By the way, you can pass the time while waiting for the clay to dry by playing mini-games in the app. Awesome!
