2026 Games Awards
PLACE 2: Village Romance (Toukana Interactive)
2021 | PC | Winner
Here’s what the kids’ jury says:
“Dorfromantik” wins the TOMMI because it’s simple yet clever and challenging. We connect hexagonal puzzle pieces to form rivers, cities, forests, or railroad tracks. Unfortunately, there are only a limited number of pieces. That’s why we have to keep reassessing how many new pieces a combination can yield. We really have to plan ahead, otherwise the world might end up looking weird. We like to play it again when we want to give our brains a workout.
Here’s what the expert jury had to say:
The key features of this tile-laying game are its relaxed gameplay and appealing design. Much like a traditional board game, cards are gradually laid down to build a landscape. This happens without any pressure, and the rules are simple and intuitive. The low barrier to entry, the board game aesthetic, and the harmonious atmosphere make the game appealing to a broad audience. Since the landscape cards are randomly generated at the start of each game, every match plays out differently.
Here's what Gaming Ohne Grenzen says:
Can be played by people with hearing impairments.
Can be played by people with motor impairments.
Ages 8 and up
