2026 Games Awards
2nd place - Horizon Forbidden West (Sony)
2022 | USK 12 | Winner
Here’s what the kids’ jury has to say:
“Horizon Forbidden West” wins the TOMMI award because the game looks fantastic and the story is totally exciting. It’s set in an open-world environment. Evil plants are spreading everywhere and making people sick. Dangerous robotic animals lurk everywhere. We explore the vast world with the heroine Aloy and take a very strategic approach to completing quests—for example, using stealth attacks. Because we’re constantly improving our skills, some battles become easier for us. Simply magnificent.
Here’s what the expert jury had to say:
In “Horizon Forbidden West,” the second installment in the game series, we once again guide the young hunter Aloy through a post-apocalyptic world now plagued by a mysterious and deadly threat and a destructive artificial intelligence. Old and new acquaintances join the fight against machine monsters, creating an adventure that’s rich in atmosphere and well-balanced in gameplay. The balanced gameplay, the lavishly presented game world—where we experience the journey and battles in an immersive way—and a heroine with whom we’re happy to dive into every adventure and save the world ensure that the series will remain a true PlayStation flagship title for a long time to come. And when it comes to accessibility, the game leads the way and gets a lot right.
