2nd place - Osmo Genius Starter Kit (Tangible Play)

2020 | Electronic Toys | Winners

Here’s what the kids’ jury had to say: “Osmo Genius Starter Kit” won the TOMMI 2020 award because we were able to play so many different games with it. We arranged tangram pieces into specific patterns, had to guess different words, and could even draw. Osmo uses the mirror to see what we’re doing. Out of the three Osmo games, we had the most fun with the one using the colored wooden blocks because it’s totally cool when you have to think.

Here’s what the expert jury had to say: The idea is as simple as it is ingenious: The iPad is clamped into a holder, a small red element is placed over the camera, and you’re ready to go. Using a small mirror, the tablet then scans whatever is placed on the table. The app included in the Starter Set combines this consistent principle with a variety of entertaining games. Whether it’s playing classic tangram, practicing math, or painting like a great artist, the system’s variety is hard to beat. Newly updated version.
