A Wildly Human Simulation: Hardly any game is as popular with kids as *The Sims*. Surprisingly, the famous life simulation game didn’t have much to offer when it came to pets. Dogs and cats led a rather lackluster existence in the background. But that’s all changed now: Whether it’s home-bred mixed-breed puppies, elegant show jumpers, or exotic reptiles—these animals are definitely breathing new life into this classic game.

Here’s what the kids’ jury had to say:
“The Sims 3—Simply Awesome” took second place at the TOMMI Awards because we really love simulation games anyway, and in this game we could do everything just like in real life. Except here, it’s not such a big deal if something goes wrong. We could start families, build houses, have kids, and live out a whole life with a Sim. But this expansion pack adds pets to the mix. It’s indescribably fun to pick out a dog and then change its coat color. We even get to set its traits ourselves, like bravery and intelligence. We love that we can take care of the animals, play with them, and train them. The graphics are great and the sound is fun. There was just one thing we didn’t like: It was hard to earn money and get promoted at work.
