3rd place – Fling to the Finish – Daedalic
Here’s what the TOMMI Kids’ Jury has to say: “Fling to the Finish” wins the TOMMI because it’s a totally crazy and super-fun team jump-and-run game. When we play this teamwork game in pairs, each of us controls our own ball. The two balls are connected by a rope—and that’s exactly what makes the game so special. We can jump, stick to surfaces, hang from walls, pull each other up, and sometimes even fling each other through the air. When we bump into each other or aren’t in sync, things get messy. But a lot of the time, it was so hilariously chaotic that we couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Here’s what the expert jury had to say: “Fling to the Finish” is a delightfully chaotic co-op racing game in which two players, as colorful balls connected by an elastic rope, must navigate crazy obstacle courses. Working as a team, players jump, stick together, and catapult themselves toward the finish line—and experience plenty of fits of laughter, moments of frustration, and bizarre physics glitches. The levels are ingeniously designed, and the learning curve is steep: Without coordination, players are bound to fail, but those who pull together will experience some real party highlights. In multiplayer mode, it’s a true party hit—chaotic, creative, and surprisingly challenging.
