2nd place – Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo
Here’s what the TOMMI Kids’ Jury had to say: “Kirby and the Forgotten Land” wins the TOMMI because it’s an open-world game with lots of challenges. At first, we thought it was a game for little kids, but we were way off. The controls and the goal of the game were easy to understand. What we liked best was the feature where Kirby can suck everything into himself and merge with other things. It was a ton of fun.
Here’s what the expert jury says: Among the many big-name Switch titles, “Kirby and the Forgotten Land” is more of an insider’s pick. But the pink character has no reason to hide in the shadow of Mario & Co. In his first true 3D adventure—now also available for Switch2—Kirby can take on the shape of other objects or characters. Just suck up a car, and Kirby is off driving through the levels on four wheels. In the Switch2 version, this blast of fun looks even sleeker. The “Star Shards” expansion adds new levels and co-op options. In multiplayer mode, teammates can step in to help out.
