Here’s what the expert jury had to say: The RoboMaker is assembled before use. In the process, children learn interesting facts about technology, electronics, and robotics. With great attention to detail, the instructions explain what each individual part is for and what role it plays in the overall design. In addition, the assembly process is guided by an app, which adds a playful element to the experience. There’s a lot to discover, and it’s fun to teach the robot different things, such as how to shake hands.

Caution regarding the protection of minors: The app transmits data—such as the user ID and device name—to external servers. This could be used to create user profiles. Tip: Use the app offline!
