3rd place - Switch: Pokémon: Lets Go, Pikachu!; Lets Go, Evoli (Nintendo)

Here’s what the TOMMI Kids’ Jury has to say: “Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!” should take 3rd place at TOMMI because it’s a cult classic. Although it’s a new game, it has fortunately stayed true to its core concept: catching and training Pokémon. Some are a little too easy to catch, though. But the Pokémon are really sooo cute. The battles are always really exciting. Even young kids stand a good chance because everything is explained really well and is easy to understand. The game is really cool.

Here’s what the expert jury had to say: When a standard Pokémon game is combined with mechanics from “Pokémon Go,” the result is something like “Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!” The fascination with the little monsters, the collecting, and the battling—everything is superbly executed and makes the game fun even for newcomers to the Pokémon universe. And when players throw a Poké Ball with a quick flick of the Switch controller, it’s a real blast. For younger players, there’s also the option to walk around the screen with an additional Trainer character.
