Here’s what the kids’ jury says: “Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games – Rio 2016” should win first place at the TOMMI Awards because it lets us compete in the Olympics and rewrite Olympic history—in Mario style. We get to try out as many sports as we want. And there’s something for everyone: beach volleyball, archery, table tennis, swimming, and much more. Boxing was the best and most fun. You do have to play the game for a while, though, or you won’t get the hang of the controls. It’s important to remember that every little movement counts. Sprinting even requires precision. We need a lot of dexterity and quick reflexes. We especially liked unlocking characters, but also teaming up with friends. It’s not too hard and not too easy—it’s just right. It was just awesome.
