App for iOS: Forest Keyboard (Weglowinthedark)

2018 | Special Award for Preschools and Kindergartens | Nominees

Here’s what media educators say: The world of letters is an exciting one for preschoolers. The Forest Keyboard fosters their curiosity with a beautifully designed learning environment. Here, children not only encounter numerous animals but also hear the first letter of each animal’s name when they tap on it. When they tap an animal, a fun animation plays. In addition, all the letters they tap appear on the screen, allowing them to practice forming short words. This gives children a playful introduction to letters and how they combine to form words. They hear the letters over and over again and associate the sounds with the animals they know, making it much easier to remember them even without the app.
