Here’s what the children’s jury says:
“KonterBUNT: Taking a Stand for Democracy” won first place at the TOMMI Awards because it’s interesting, exciting, and highly topical. It’s about discrimination and hate speech—and what you can do about them. When someone says something annoying to us, we choose a smart response that won’t make that person angry. That’s how we learned some really good arguments that aren’t provocative. These comebacks also help us in our personal arguments. We’re surprised that we learned something about politics after playing the game.
Here’s what the expert jury says: “
”
On the bus, in the schoolyard, at work, or at a family gathering—we often hear other people not only spouting nonsense but also making sexist, degrading comments and chanting hateful slogans. How can we respond to this? Knowing how to counter these remarks effectively is a skill that must be learned. “KonterBUNT” offers strong arguments, relevant mini-games, a list of common slogans, and a strategy guide that outlines numerous techniques proven effective in dealing with bar-table rhetoric. A useful tool for promoting democracy.
