2026 Games Awards
3rd place - IQ Mini (Smart Games)
2022 | Electronic Toys | Winners
Here’s what the kids’ jury says:
“IQ Mini” wins at TOMMI because even though it looks small, it still presents a huge challenge. We place the blocks and then have to stack the spheres. It gets harder and harder. Plus, there’s always only one solution, and if you get stuck, you can get help via a QR code. Since “IQ Mini” is a great brain teaser, we have to think a lot, and somehow that’s really good for relieving stress. It’s so small that we can take it with us in our pockets when we visit our friends. We’d play with it again anytime.
Here’s what the expert jury has to say:
A 5-by-5 grid, six different tiles, and three plastic pegs to block off individual squares—that’s all you need to really rack your brain. Although, of course, you’ll also need a smartphone to scan the QR code and visit the IQ Mini website, where countless puzzles across three difficulty levels await. In each of these puzzles, the positions of a few pieces are given; the rest must then be arranged by the puzzlers so that the entire playing surface is filled. “IQ Mini” is a clever, digitally connected variation on a classic tile-laying game that encourages players to enjoy short rounds of puzzle-solving time and time again.
