Peter Lustig isn’t just a cult figure on television. His “Löwenzahn” CD-ROMs were the first truly successful children’s software titles on the market, and they effortlessly proved one thing above all else: Adapting a well-known TV series doesn’t have to be a lackluster rehash of the show. The series captivates with a wealth of creative ideas that do full justice to the CD-ROM medium. The fact that the eighth installment has now won an award shows that the creators have by no means run out of ideas, even with number 8. “Children have fun,” as the expert jury puts it, “and they learn something.”

We’ve enjoyed every one of them, but *Löwenzahn 8* has a special feature that stands out: the virtual dog that you can control and have to take care of. This CD-ROM is like a giant encyclopedia you can explore. The games are fun, and you even learn something along the way, like in the dog breed game. There are videos where you can learn about things like metals or the telephone. Peter Lustig’s inventory contains household items that you can usually click on to start a game. It’s amazing how many different things you can do with them!”
