There are certainly plenty of car racing games on the market. But in which car racing game can players actually design their own tracks? TrackMania’s blend of car racing and creative fun won over both judging panels. The endless possibilities ensure that no two races are alike. And if that’s not enough, players can also compete against other opponents via LAN or the Internet. “TrackMania,” said the expert jury, “is first and foremost a racing game: fast, dynamic, funny, and crazy. Just how crazy, however, depends on the player.”

Here’s what the kids’ jury had to say:“What we especially like about this game is that you can be really creative. The racetrack can be expanded in any direction at any time. That means you can keep challenging yourself by building even bigger and longer tracks. There are no limits to what you can do while playing—except for money, of course. I thought the loops were awesome! When you’re driving, you can adjust the camera angle—it’s just like sitting in the car yourself. That makes everything so much more exciting and realistic! We also liked that you could choose whether to build the racetrack on a grassy field, in the desert, or on ice and snow. We also think it’s great that you can play the game alone or with others. The controls are easy, and the graphics are excellent. We had a ton of fun playing this game, and we’ll definitely be playing it a lot more.”
