3rd place - Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (Sony)

Here’s what the youth jury had to say: “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart” took third place at the TOMMI Awards because it’s a jam-packed action-adventure game with breathtaking graphics and great humor. If only that evil Dr. Nefarious weren’t around! Finally, we can play it on the PC, too. We had to fight with weapons like an axe, a pistol, a minigun, and a magic glove to make our way through the game. We loved the open-world mode, the exciting story, and the shooter elements, where we had to aim carefully and the enemies were really tough.

Here’s what the expert jury had to say: Thegameplay in “Rift Apart” is incredibly fast-paced, and the game world is brimming with ideas. The open-world setting allows players to set their own goals and decide how they want to spend the next few hours: collecting items, racing at high speed through the fantastical landscape, defeating enemies, or advancing the story. The two likable heroes provide entertainment with their witty and ironic dialogue. Rift Apart is a new benchmark in the platformer genre.
