In “World of Wonders: A City Goes Crazy,” the population has fled from green slime oozing out of the pipes. Playing as Agent Benjy, the player must now investigate this environmental scandal in the deserted city. Benjy must explore the city on his own and piece together the puzzle. His only connection to the outside world consists of sporadic emails from the “World of Wonders” headquarters or love letters from Susi. And then there’s the portable computer, which serves as a small encyclopedia for looking up information. Cutting-edge information is also provided by the video clips from the TV series “World of Wonders.” There, the player learns amazing facts about trash and what so-called “trash archaeologists” can deduce from a 30-year-old steak that was preserved in a landfill. Not exactly easy, but good.
Here’s what the kids’ jury had to say:“World of Wonders: A City Goes Crazy” is an exciting adventure game that’s very tricky and requires a lot of patience. You have to pay incredibly close attention, have a very good memory, or just write a lot of things down. Sometimes the game turns out to be quite difficult. But that changes quickly if you keep a clear head and think logically. It’s easy to find your way around the game, and you learn a lot. We also really liked the realistic graphics. It’s a game where the whole family can puzzle it out together in front of the computer.
